The 20 most visited websites in the world
From hap.io's measured full reports, November 2026. Figures are monthly visits; every row links to the site's live report.
The top of the web is not crowded — it is a staircase. google.com alone records an estimated 85.2 billion visits a month in hap.io's measured index, roughly three times youtube.com in second place. The top three properties together account for about 124.9B monthly visits, and the twentieth site on this list still clears 865M — more traffic than most national media markets produce in total.
Two shifts stand out. The first is that an AI assistant is now a top-five website: chatgpt.com, a domain that did not exist as a product three years ago, ranks fifth with about 5.9 billion monthly visits — ahead of wikipedia.org and amazon.com. The second is how durable the old order otherwise is: search, social feeds and video still take almost every seat at the table, and only one retailer (amazon.com) and no standalone news site make the top twenty at all. The largest news property in the measured index, nytimes.com, sits near 606 million monthly visits — enormous for a publisher, and roughly one one-hundred-and-fortieth of Google.

How to read this list
These figures come from each site's full measured report on hap.io — the same reports any visitor can open — not from the modelled basic estimates hap.io publishes for the wider web. Visits count sessions, not people: one person visiting a site ten times is ten visits, which is why habit products (search, feeds, messaging) tower over sites people open occasionally. hap.io tracks about two million websites in total; the companion analysis looks at where these giants' visits actually arrive from — and the answer is less about search engines than most people expect.
Rankings move as reports refresh. Figures here were read from the live reports in November 2026 and will drift; the report pages themselves are always the current version.
